Classification classifys animals into different groups based upon thier characteristics and genetic heritage. This is also commonly known as taxonomy, whose groups are shown to the ight being used to classify a killer whale. A killer whal's scientififc name (possible through the use of taxonomy in Linnaeu's system of classification) is Orcinus orca. Phylogenetic trees are another common classification tool used to show the genetic heritage and classify animals.
